Get ready for Paper Plate Carpet Skating

What you need

  • Paper2 paper plates per skater
  • Phonefor playing music
  • Pillows and cushions2
  • Scrap papera few pieces, for score cards
  • Crayons or markers1, for the score cards

Getting ready

  1. Choose a carpeted area about 3 big steps wide and 5 big steps long, and move any clutter out.
  2. Count out 2 paper plates for each skater, smooth side down.
  3. Set 2 cushions on the carpet about 4 big steps apart for the figure eight.
  4. Pick a music playlist or song and get it ready to play.
  5. Line up a few chairs or sofa spots for the family judges.
  6. Draw one to five stars on a few scraps of paper so the judges have score cards.

⚠️ Safety first: slipping or falling if used on hard floors or stairs. skate on carpet only. tripping on clutter, so keep the space clear.
