Twelve Days of Wiggles
Here's one to try together!
Build a giant dance one day at a time, and see if you can remember all twelve moves in a row!
Reviewed by our team.
Safety first
- collisions or falls if the space is not cleared
- dizziness from spinning
- overexertion or thirst during vigorous movement; take a water break
What you need
- Paper, 12
- Crayons or markers, 1 box
- Water, 1 cup per player
- Phone, 1 (optional)
How to do it
Grown-up prep: Cut or fold paper into 12 cards, set out crayons, clear a safe open space and have water ready for a midway drink.
- Pick one fun move for each day, from day one to day twelve.
- Draw each move on its own card and write its day number.
- Line up the cards in order where everyone can see them.
- Day one! Start the song or count, then do move number one.
- Each new day, do the newest move, then every move back to day one.
- After day six, take a water break and catch your breath. Ask: We have done 21 moves so far. How many do you think we will do by day twelve?
- Keep building, one new day at a time, all the way to day twelve. Ask: Which move was the hardest to remember, and which made you giggle most?
- Twist time: do all twelve moves backwards, as fast as you can!
- Teach your dance to a friend or a grown-up. Can they keep up? Ask: What twelve new moves would you pick for next time?
Play it again
- Shuffle up: mix the cards and build the dance in a brand new order.
- Silent show: do the whole dance with no counting out loud, just pointing at cards.
- Animal days: every move must be an animal, like frog hops or flamingo stands.
