How to do it
Grown-up prep: Wash hands together, then set everything on a table within reach. Open the pumpkin and pudding mix so the kids can scoop and pour.
- Put the graham crackers into the zip bag and seal it.
- Roll a cup over the bag to crush the crackers.
- Spoon the crumbs into the bottoms of the cups.
- Press the crumbs down with the back of a spoon. Ask: What do you think will happen when the wet filling goes on top of the crumbs?
- Tip the pumpkin, pudding mix, milk and cinnamon into the big bowl.
- Whisk it for two minutes, until the filling gets thick. Ask: What is happening to the milk and the pudding mix as you whisk?
- Spoon the pumpkin filling over the crumbs.
- Chill the cups in the fridge for fifteen minutes. Ask for help if you need it
- Top each cup with a swirl of whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon.
- Share your cups for dessert, and vote on a name for them! Ask: What is the best name for our pumpkin dessert, and why?
Play it again
- Name game: invent a new name for the dessert each time you make it.
- Swap the spice: try a little less cinnamon or add a drop of vanilla and taste the difference.
- Cup parade: make extra cups and deliver them to family members with a song.
