How to do it
Grown-up prep: Check for allergies first (oats may carry wheat, seeds may be an allergen). Honey is not for babies under 1, so use maple syrup if one is around.
- A grown-up preheats the oven to 325°F. A grown-up does this
- Tip the oats, seeds, salt and cinnamon into the big bowl.
- Stir the dry mix until the cinnamon is spread everywhere.
- Mix the honey or syrup with the oil in a cup.
- Pour the sticky liquid over the oats and stir until every oat shines.
- Line the tray with paper and press the mixture flat.
- Bake at 325°F for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown. A grown-up does this
- Now wait 20 minutes and do not touch it, not even to stir!
- Break it into chunky pieces and mix in the raisins.
- Pour it into a jar, then share a taste! What will you add next time?
Play it again
- Mix-in mission: add dried fruit, coconut or other seeds and name your new recipe.
- Cluster contest: press one tray very hard and another lightly, then see which makes bigger clusters.
- Snack parfait: layer granola with yogurt and berries in a cup.
