Here's one to try together!
Hunt for pumpkins, black cats and dancing skeletons on a spooky-fun stroll with Ollie!
Reviewed by our team.
Safety first
- traffic near roads, so hold hands
- decorations that may frighten young children
- walking outdoors in the neighborhood, possibly at dusk or in the dark
What you need
- Paper, 1 sheet per player or group
- Crayons or markers, several
- Flashlight, 1 (optional)
- Ruler, 1 (optional)
How to do it
Grown-up prep: Set out paper and crayons so each player or team can draw a bingo card before you head out. Pick a route you know has some decorations, and plan to hold little hands near roads.
- Draw a bingo grid on your paper.
- Fill the squares with spooky things to find.
- Take a quick look at your card and say each picture's name. Ask: Which one do you think will be easiest to find?
- Hold hands and start walking around the neighborhood.
- Cross off each thing when you spot it.
- Shout 'Boo bingo!' when you finish a line. Ask: Which line did you finish first?
- Walk past any decorations that look too scary.
- Now show your card to someone at home, or plan another walk! Ask: What spooky thing could we add next time?
Play it again
- Color hunt: draw squares in colors, like orange, black and purple, and find something in each color.
- Team race: split into two teams with their own cards and see who shouts 'Boo bingo!' first.
- Daytime twist: make a leaf, sticks and stones bingo card for any walk, no decorations needed.
