Reviewed by our team.
Safety first
- thrown discs can hit people, so only throw when nobody is in the way
- keep the course away from windows to avoid breakage
What you need
- Paper, 1 sheet
- Frisbee or paper plate, 1 per player, plus a few spare plates
- Pencil, 1
How to do it
Grown-up prep: Check the yard for a clear area away from windows, people and pets. Remind everyone to throw only when nobody is in the way.
- Walk around the yard and choose five targets for your course.
- Check that every throwing path is clear and away from windows.
- Mark a starting spot for each target.
- Make a scorecard with a row for each hole and each player.
- Stand at the first spot and throw your disc toward the target. Ask: Do you think you can hit it in one throw, or will it take a few?
- Throw again from where your disc landed until you hit the target.
- Count your throws for the hole and write the score on your card.
- Play all five holes, then add up the scores to find the lowest total. Ask: Which hole was the trickiest, and what would you change about your throw next time?
- Now play again! Set a par for each hole, or move the starting spots farther back. Ask: How could you change the course to make it even harder?
Play it again
- Par challenge: guess a par for each hole, then try to match or beat it.
- Backwards course: play the holes in reverse order, starting from the last target.
- Switch hands: throw with your other hand and see how your score changes.
