What you need

  • Phone, 1, for the timer
  • Paper, 1 sheet (optional)
  • Pencil, 1 (optional)

How to do it

Grown-up prep: Grab a phone timer. Done counts: it doesn't have to be perfect.

  1. Stand at the top of your bed and get ready.
  2. Warm up with three big arm swings and a stretch.
  3. Pull up the sheet and blanket.
  4. Smooth out the lumps with flat hands.
  5. Tuck in the sides, or let them hang straight.
  6. Put the pillow on top and line up your stuffed animals.
    Ask: What was your time?
  7. Inspection time! A grown-up checks the bed like a hotel boss.
  8. Write down your time, and try to beat it tomorrow morning!
Ask: Who else in the house can you race?

Play it again

  • Animal parade: line up the stuffed animals in a new order each day, biggest to smallest.
  • Silent bed: make the whole bed without making a sound.
  • Grown-up race: you and a grown-up make your beds at the same time. Who finishes first?
